New Referent Orientation

This class is available to those that have been selected by the Union to start the New Referent process. If you are on the Temp/Over Hire list with Local 720 and are selected to become a regular referent you will receive an e-mail with instructions to RSVP for the class.
Who it’s for: This class is required for all New Referents to the IATSE Local 720 Dispatch System
1. New Referents must complete NEW REFERENT ORIENTATION and present a certificate or card indicating they have completed an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 course, as part of the initial processing required to become active in the Local 720 Dispatch System. Nevada Law requires that technicians in the entertainment industry have OSHA General Industry or Construction certification. Training offers both OSHA 10 and 30 General Industry classes from time to time, at no charge, but you must have had a work call through Local 720 to be eligible. If you are not eligible or don’t want to wait on the class you can also try SCATS of Nevada at www.4safenv.state.nv.us or one of the many online classes. I suggest one of the following for online classes:
a. OSHA 10 only – careersafeonline.com and select the OSHA 10 General Industry class.
b. OSHA 30 – 360training.com/ or summit.hsi.com/osha1030 ($ changes month to month)
